Powell, OH – As a small token of thanks to members of the military, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is offering free Zooadmission and discounted Zoombezi Bay admission to all who are serving and have served our great nation, including immediate family members, July 2 through July 8, 2012.
Military personnel should show their military ID and veterans must show proof of service for free entry to the Zoo. Immediate family is defined as active or non-active military personnel, spouses and any children living in the household. Ride wristbands are also available at a discounted rate of $5 and Zoombezi Bay admission tickets are $22.99.
Because many members of our military are still fighting overseas, the Zoo, in conjunction with the Blue Star Mothers of America, will host The Shoe Box for Soldiers Collection on Sunday, July 1 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests are asked to bring shoe boxes filled with travel-sized and non-perishable items to the “Blue Star Mothers of America” tent at the Zoo's entrance. The packages will be prepared and sent overseas to the men and women that are still in harm’s way.
Those bringing shoeboxes will be given one ticket per person that brings a filled box. One guest may bring multiple boxes; however, he or she will only receive one admission ticket. Admission tickets must be used on Sunday, July 1, 2012 (rain or shine).
